Quilts

Stargazy (2025)

I found this in a box under the bed with only one row left to piece. Such is me.

Backing and batting are both cut from a second hand duvet cover. Pattern is Stargazy Stitches by Amy Ball

“That Grandma Technology” (2024)

A charm pack one patch for my parents, who remain in awe of the lightweight-but-warm properties of a good old fashioned quilt.

Penny’s Quilt (2024)

We learned to make Nicholas Ball’s improv fish blocks in the quilt group I attend. I used them to make a quilt for my cat (natch).

Machine & hand stitched applique, improv piecing. Hand quilted.

Postcard for Kirsten (2022)

A little scrappy log cabin variation, backed with cardboard from a cereal box, and sent through the post. Happiness in miniature.

Machine pieced with ¾” strips.

Slutty Patcher (2022)

Inspired by @lusummers on instagram, who coined the phrase to refer to quilters who’ll sew with even the tiniest pieces of fabric they find on the floor of their craft rooms.

Hand quilted using Kantha stitching.

Colour Study 1 | 11¾” x 12″ (2022)

A pixel quilt made up of ½” squares; a study in the beauty of small things. Initially displayed in Bolton Art Gallery’s OPEN exhibition in 2023, now it lives in my bedroom where it makes me smile every day.

Machine pieced and quilted.
